Non-stick pans are a kitchen favourite due to their convenience and ease of cleaning. However, there's a hidden danger: Teflon flu, also known as polymer fume fever. This condition occurs when non-stick pans are overheated, releasing toxic fumes that cause flu-like symptoms. According to the Washington Post, U.S. poison centres have documented over 3,600 suspected cases of "polymer fume fever" in the past two decades.
