We’re all super inspired by the “wellness aesthetic” on Instagram. Think matcha, yoga and breathwork. But really this movement is so much more than asthetics. It's a whole-person approach to health, holistic health encompasses your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social health!Although I’ve studied traditional medicine where we treat one part of our bodies, gone are the days when we only treat the ailment. Think a little and dive deeper and you’ll soon realise that all of these aspects are interconnected and affect each other.I like to call this our wheel of health. It’s like a domino effect, one irregularity affects the other.So when we look at health, it’s important to look at all aspects, instead of just treating a particular disease.Health isn’t just the absence of disease, it’s about thriving! Mind body and soul.Heres my guide to thriving holistically and glowing from the inside out.Identifying your goals and valuesI talk a lot about bio individuality. This is a concept where we realise that each of us is different and has unique needs and goals. We’re different from one another and it’s important to identify ones “why”. Figure out what your goals and values are.Eat foods that nourishIt’s easy to follow a fad diet for a while or follow trends. But it’s important to gain understanding about basic nutrition and eating whole foods that nourish you. It’s all about green leafy veggies, good sources of protein and eating wholegrain! Clean eating changes your gut health, your mood and you just glow!Move your bodyFind a form of movement you enjoy. Make that your special me time. Change your mindset from “I have to” to “I get to”. Being able to schedule a life that looks after all aspects of your health is really a privilege. Acknowledge that. You’ll move differently. Working out for at least 30 mins 5 days a week is key! It boosts your dopamine, longevity and helps reduce the risk of diabetes and heart disease.Sleep moreMake sure you're getting 7 hrs of proper sleep. Follow a night time routine. Train your circadian rhythm. You’ll be so much happier, fitter and energetic. It’s the key to living a life where you’re thriving.Morning routines are everythingTake time out to reflect in the morning. Practice 10 mins of journaling. I swear by my morning routine. It helps me start the day powerful, happy and positive!Listen to more musicHave a playlist that hypes you. Learn an instrument or just sing! But music is so powerful and those vibrations literally can turn your day around.Prioritise relationshipsStudies suggest that those who have strong bonds have a lower risk of heart disease, diabetes and even cancer. Having a circle that inspires you, spending time with family or friends is sooo helpful to your mental state. Create a circle that’s got your back.Spend time outdoorsSpend time outdoors at the beach or go for a long walk. Grow your own garden. But the greenery helps calm you, boosts serotonin and vitamin D. It also regulates your health markers!Build healthy HabitsCreate a routine that excites you! One book I swear by is The Atomic Habits. Another idea would be to work with a health coach for some serious accountability.Understanding the science of habit change is the key to boosting your health, living a holistically healthy and fulfilling life!
