Let’s dive into holistic health and understand what it actually means. Health can be a very broad term but there are soo many tiny aspects that can affect it either to be better or worse. Holistic is really a broader approach to health rather than insta wellness trends.It covers all aspects and teaches us how one aspect is interconnected with the other. When I work with clients, I’m always talking about the wheel of health. The wheel is basically of: physical activity and fitnessPhysical environmentNutritionMental and emotional wellbeingFulfilment and purposeSleep and restCommunityIt’s funny how they’re all different elements but bad sleep affects your mental health and bad nutrition won’t help you be more physically fit. They’re all interconnected and suffering in any area pulls you down in other areas too! That’s why it’s important to make sure you’re doing your best to look after all aspects of who you are.Health auditsI like to look at each area and rate how I feel about each one scale of 1-10.I then know the areas I scored the least in and know that I need to work on these more.I then create action steps and try to build habits around these.That’s how I like to set my goals. Our lives are constantly evolving and changing and so is our health. Life is basically a balancing act and playing around with all our roles and trying to do the best we can.That’s why I recommend doing this audit every month to reassess things and work on them.Some easy ways to build new habitsHabit stackI talk a lot about this but layering new habits with old ones helps our brain register these fasterset reminders either on the phone or add post it’s around your work desk or home.Consciously curatei create a routine from morning to evening and curate what you do whenTime blockBlocking out hrs for specific things helps. Transforming your health takes time and building new habits takes time too! Health is a journey and it takes time to become the best version of you. Starting to enjoy this journey is the first step. Evolution takes time, effort and consistancy. That’s how the magic is unleashed.
